Getting Started

An air ambulance is a dedicated aircraft for patient transport with medical equipment onboard, staffed with specialized medical personnel.

If your patient is unable to sit upright aboard a commercial aircraft or requires specialised critical care staff or equipment, then an air ambulance is recommended.

We are able to move most patients once they have been stabilised in a hospital, though continued medical care is still required.

Once we have the patient’s information, including his or her destination medical facility, our medical department will arrange all patient flight details, including:

  • Patient information and medical reports are reviewed by medical director and chief flight nurse
  • Chief flight nurse contacts the destination medical facility for an up-to-date medical report
  • Consulting the medical director and assigning appropriate medical staff and obtain the guidance from medical director
  • Briefing medical escort if he/she is comfortable to conduct the mission based on the current information obtained
  • Obtaining airline’s medical clearance for every flight/sector with the patient
  • Arranging or confirming the receiving medical facility information
  • Keep the client updated on the progression of the trip

Asia Air Ambulance provides bed-to-bed service for patients requiring medical transfer, including ground transportation, for individual patients and their families, as well as medical transfer services for hospitals and insurance companies.

In this service, also referred to as “bed-to-bed” service, our medical crew arrives at patient bedsides at the sending medical facility. The crew then escorts patients to the airport, accompanies them throughout the flight, and then travels with them to the receiving medical facility. Once patients arrive at the destination medical facility, transfer of care is complete.
